Emergency Services at St. Thomas More Hospital

The St. Thomas More Emergency Department receives more than 17,000 visits each year. It is designated a Level IV trauma care unit and is accessible by Flight For Life helicopter. It is staffed 24 hours/day by skilled physicians, mid-level practitioners and nurses, who also work in partnership with nearby hospitals in Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver when necessary to transport patients requiring a higher level of care.

St. Thomas More Trauma unit is pleased to announce the formation of the Royal Gorge Emergency Medical Specialists (RGEMS), July 1st, 2010.  This core group of physicians are part of our community.  This group of physicians is trained specifically on Emergency medicine.  This group provides a consistent and strong ED/Trauma team specially focused on our community.

Our not-for-profit designation means that we treat anyone who walks in our doors, regardless of ability to pay.

St. Thomas More now offers a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) program. Our emergency department has a designated SANE unit.
